The Moliere players are in their dressing room, getting ready to go on set. One actor mentions to another that his face reminds him of an opportunist turncoat he knew when he was in the Resistance. He then relates the adventure that he had in the Resistance, running an illegal radio station and dodging the Nazis.。根据章丘作家牛余和小说《姚爷》改编，影片以上世纪30年代中国北方农村为背景，在跌宕起伏的讲述中直抵人性，倾情演绎一段缠绵悱恻而又催人泪下的爱情故事。 盲女乔姐与家中长工的儿子姚哥从小青梅竹马，但父母却把她远嫁到地主尚瞎子家，姚哥历尽艰辛来到尚家找活做，为的是守护心爱的人。阴险的管家一方面想霸占尚家家产，又贪慕乔氏美色，假借尚瞎子之名召集众人揭发乔氏与姚哥私情。在“瞎子大会”上，乔氏与女仆林嫂揭发了管家图谋不轨的劣行，众人乱棍打跑了管家，愧疚中的姚哥自残双目还得乔氏的自由，一对恩爱的盲人相互搀扶着在风雪中蹒跚前行……。一名曾学过钢琴的记者被一位年老的钢琴大师所赏识，但后者似乎另有所图。。。。
