The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。故事是从青青与小草，这两位孤女开始的。青青的兄嫂强逼她嫁给一个老头做妾，小草的舅妈对她百般刁难，两个女孩儿不甘受缚于既定的命运，就在青青的婚礼中相协逃走。远赴扬州的傅家庄投靠小草的亲人海爷爷，路上巧遇同样离家出走愤世嫉俗的世家青年何世纬，种种原因令三人决定结伴同行，青青对世纬暗生情愫。到达傅家庄之后，接二连三发生的事件引发了过去的恩怨情仇，小草的身世之谜也有了线索······。故事以游戏为基础，是前作D.C.53年之后的故事。故事中两位女主角朝仓音姬和朝仓由梦是前作主角的孙女，但动画以女主角之一的月岛小恋与主角交往为开头，以游戏剧情的天枷美夏路线为结尾。。
