盲女苏茜和丈夫下飞机时，代一位旅客保管一个绒毛玩具。那旅客一去不返。第二天，两名贩毒团伙成员追踪到苏茜家，他们利用她眼盲，一边冒充她丈夫的朋友跟她东拉西扯，一边到处寻找那个装满毒品的娃娃。。雪娘随父母还乡，途中遭夏三虎、徐钧等山贼洗劫，父母惨死，雪娘幸免，被范进所救，二人结为夫妻。在儿子天祥满月之日，夏三虎掳走儿子，范进弃雪娘而去。 夏三虎被徐钧、柳迎春出卖而被捕，雪娘抢回儿子，去沧州认亲。 正逢范进娶柳迎春为妻。在范府，雪娘撞见柳迎春与徐钧的奸情，险遭毒手，幸被越狱复仇的夏三虎所救。 雪娘遭柳迎春诬陷被充军，天祥被卖到妓院。 范进遭柳迎春、徐钧暗算，家产被霸占，追悔莫及。千里寻妻寻子，晕倒街头，幸被钱夫人所救。她为得到范进，费尽心机，与徐钧勾结又诬陷雪娘是杀人凶手，雪娘被判死刑。范进为救雪娘，答应与钱夫人成亲。 柳迎春被雪娘感化，找到徐钧杀钦差的罪证，被徐钧灭口。 柳迎春死前将血书藏到树洞中。雪娘上香拾得血书，恰遇皇上出巡，几经周折，三虎将罪证交给皇上，徐钧被罢官，押解进京。 一路上，徐钧最终被雪娘的慈悲心肠感化下，幡然悔悟。。Greece, in the 1920's, is occupied by the Turks. The country is in turmoil with entire villages uprooted. The site of the movie is a Greek village that conducts a passion play each year. The leading citizens of the town, under the auspices of the Patriarch, choose those that will play the parts in the Passion. A stuttering shepherd is chosen to play Jesus. The town butcher (who wanted to be Jesus) is chosen as Judas. The town prostitute is chosen as Mary Magdalene. The rest of the disciples are also chosen. As the movie unfolds, the Passion Play becomes a reality. A group of villagers, uprooted by the war and impoverished, arrive at the village led by their priest. The wealthier citizens of the town want nothing with these people and manipulate a massacre. In the context of the 1920's each of the characters plays out their biblical role in actuality.。
